To celebrate St George’s Day, our group joined together with other Scout groups from across the Richmondshire district for a fantastic day of walking and reflection.
We gathered in Richmond to walk the famous Drummer Boy loop, following the scenic route along the River Swale. Our walk brought us to the beautiful, ruins of Easby Abbey, where all of our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and leaders stood together to renew their Scout Promises.
Following the ceremony, the groups enjoyed a massive, well-deserved picnic in the abbey grounds before completing the circular route back into Richmond. It was wonderful to see so many sections from across the district catching up and celebrating together.
Thank you to everyone who organized the route and to all the young people and volunteers who joined us to make it such a memorable St George’s Day.
